National Park Zhau

Zhau National Park was established in 1980. This is one of the largest national parks in Brazil. His area of ​​2272000 hectares, representing 1.42% of the Amazon state. In 2000 the park was included in the List of World Heritage sites by UNESCO. In 2003, the National Park Zhau was merged with several other conservation areas, and became a member of the Central Amazonian reserve complex.
The National Park is situated mostly in Zhau Basin Zhau, one of the smaller tributaries of the Rio Negro. To reach the park from the city of Manaus is possible (about 200 miles to the north).
