National Park Ruvubu



Ruvubu National Park is located in the north-eastern Burundi, stretching south-west border with Tanzania over sixty-five miles along the river Ruvubu. The national park covers an area an area of ​​43,630 hectares and is situated at an altitude of about 1350 to 1830 meters. The park includes the Burundian province of Gitega, Muyinga and Ruyigi.
Ruvubu National Park was established in 1980, when at the cost of more than five hundred thousand dollars were brought here for permanent residence three thousand families. The official grand opening of the park was the third of March. It was then, this area became known as the first national park and nature reserve at a time. However, the final status of this region has not yet been acquired. Ruvubu seeks to preserve the natural diversity of flora and fauna that existed for centuries in the north-eastern Burundi.
