Humboldt National Park, Cuba


Humboldt National Park is a natural attraction, located in two provinces of Cuba. This park is considered to be outstanding because of the height of its location, complex topography, diversity and richness of endemic fauna and flora.Such qualities of Alexander von Humboldt National Park could not go unnoticed by the public. So in 2001 the park was included in the list of World Heritage sites.These places were known to humanity for over 200 years ago. The park was named after the German scientist Alexander von Humboldt, who visited the island in 1801.Park is not for nothing that enjoys broad popularity, there is something to see: the height of relief varies between 1186 meters and above, taking home the river is considered the largest in the Caribbean. There are many rivers in general, therefore, Humboldt Park is considered one of the wettest areas in Cuba. Moisture led to a high biological diversity: There are more than twenty-endemic plant species. Only 16 of them are found in the park Humboldt. Is there parrots, hummingbirds, lizards, snails ... and huge, too rare.
