One of the most popular and visited tourist destinations in Iceland - Gullfoss Waterfall Gold (Gullfoss).
The name of the waterfall is translated as "the Golden Falls." Gullfoss waterfall is located in the canyon of the river Khviti in southwest Iceland. The depth of the falls, before the fall of water is 70 feet, the golden waterfall cascades consisting of two stages in height at 21 and 11 meters.
At the Falls in 1920 and in 1977 there were attempts to build a hydroelectric plant, which certainly would have led to its destruction. But foreign investors did not have enough money, and they sold it back to the Government of Iceland.
